Scott Moore teaches from his heart. He infuses his classes with story-telling, music, poetry, humor and FUN. He invites and encourages all people to practice experiencing their True Self. Scott teaches a broad range of styles from gentle restorative and yoga nidra (guided meditation) to powerful Vinyasa and detailed alignment-based hatha practices.
Scott discovered yoga in 1999 and slowly fell in love with it. Since then, he has studied meditation in Korea, taught yoga in Croatia, and studied Ayurveda (the sister-science to yoga) in Kerala, India. Scott has been a key figure in building Salt Lake City’s once-meager yoga community into one lauded as one of the top ten in the country by Yoga Journal Magazine. In 2010 Scott opened Prana Yoga with Matt Newman and Jennifer Ellen Mueller. Scott teaches yoga as adjunct faculty at Westminster College and is the yoga program director for Gateway Academy, a therapeutic boarding school for boys. Scott is regularly invited to offer lectures and workshops on the benefits of yoga for health care practitioners throughout the intermountain west. His writing on yoga has been published in multiple online and print publications. He leads several yoga retreats each year, both locally and abroad. Scott’s principle yoga teachers include: Erin Geesaman Rabke, Peter Francyk, D’ana Baptiste, Richard Miller, Jaisri Lambert, Donna Farhi, and Judith Hanson Lasater.
When Scott is not teaching yoga he loves to play the tenor saxophone and clarinet with his jazz and soul bands. He writes and keeps a weekly newsletter and blog at scottsyogaforum.blogspot.com. He also enjoys trail running and kicking around the kitchen. Scott is enthralled by poetry, music and dance and loves to travel.
